In June 2023, Aerophile installed 10 Para-PMs in the courtyard of an elementary school in the 9th arrondissement of Paris, for a 12-month trial period. The courtyard is a 330 m2 open-air space surrounded by 12 m walls. Six Pollutrack sensors have also been installed by an external laboratory, in the school to monitor PM2.5 concentrations live, on the street side to monitor local ambient pollution, and in the courtyard to measure the effectiveness of the system. The experiment lasted a year to accumulate sufficient data. The results show a reduction in PM2.5 pollution of 30% on average in the courtyard, which means that the air is systematically more breathable, within the standards set by the WHO (below 15 μg/m3 for one day). The intrinsic effectiveness of the devices has been validated: the Para-PM captures 90 to 95% of fine particles, even the smallest (viruses, pollens, etc.).
